“Parks and Recreation” comedy concludes with cast appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers
The whole cast of “Parks and Recreation” will be guests at NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” on the night of the series finale. The NBC show will feature cast members Amy Poehler, Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Adam Scott, Jim O’Heir, and Retta alongside comedy producer Michael Schur. This will also be a reunion for former Weekend Update anchors Seth Meyers and Amy Poehler. The reunion also serves as Meyer’s one year anniversary for the show.
The last episode of the comedy series airs on February 24. The first episode aired on April 9, 2009 and has a total of 125 episodes and 7 seasons. When the final season premiered the executive producer Schur said the final season would feature a few “real nostalgia” storylines to honor fans, a lot of Easter eggs and a lot of Pawnee people coming back at the end for one big scene but ultimately he had a different goal. “The goal is to always have the story stand on its own regardless of if you’ve seen (the show) before,” he said.
The comedy season premiere was on January 13 and the season finale just six week later. This is because of NBC decision to air back to back episodes and this will result to an hour long finale on February 24. NBC chairman Robert Greenblatt explained the reasons the network took that move. “In an effort to give it the send-off it deserves, we wanted to ‘eventize’ the final season to maximize the impact of these episodes, which really do take the show to a new level. “He said.
