Patrick Stewart Teases Role in Next ‘Wolverine’ Movie
Patrick Stewart who is currently on the road promoting his new indie film titled Match was asked by The Oregonian about his status on future X-Men movies, Patrick stated that there is a high chance of him not being part in the new X-Men movie. He went on to state that the movie will have a young version of classic X-Men who will line up and face off with Oscar Isaac’s Apocalypse. The young version of classic X-Men will include Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Alexandra Shipp as Storm and Tye Sheridan as Cyclops. Another person who is set to make an appearance according to Patrick Stewart is Ian McKellen who plays Magneto in the film. Here is his quote: “Magneto, Ian McKellen, is certainly going to be in [‘X-Men: Apocalypse’]. And what I’m very excited about is that we have been talking about a Wolverine movie, which would team Hugh Jackman and myself together. Wolverine and Professor Xavier. That would be a very different sort of ‘X-Men’ from the four movies that I’ve already done.”
Fitting Ian McKellen, an older Magneto in the film will be difficult given the fact that the film X-Men Apocalypse is supposed to be set during 1980. If he is to be fitted into the film then there will be a lot of Flashback bookends, more shenanigans abut time-travel and lots of pancake makeup. An older Professor Xavier and Wolverine make the perfect pairing for any future Wolverine movies, think about it the thoughtful one who is philosophical and the physical hero what a movie that can be.
X-Men Apocalypse is set to start filming/ shooting in April this year with a release date of May 27, 2016.
