E.L. James to Publish another Erotic Novel about Christian Grey
Fifty Shades of Grey fans will be ecstatic over this news – E.L. James has decided to publish another book, called simply Grey, and written from Christian Grey's perspective. The news was announced on Instagram on Monday and it will be very different from the first books because Anastasia’s perspective was dominant in them. The books are set to hit the shelves on June 18 2015.
"Christian is a complex character," James said in a news release. "And readers have always been fascinated by his desires and motivations, and his troubled past. Also, as anyone who has ever been in a relationship knows, there are two sides to every story. It's been a great pleasure to return to my happy place — writing, being with Christian and Ana in their universe, and working with the fantastic team at Vintage."
E.L. James said that the fans were very persistent in asking for a sequel. The story being retold from a different perspective is not a novelty in the world of publishing, and especially in the world of franchises. For instance, Twilight series written by Stephanie Meyer were told from Edward’s perspective in the book the Midnight Sun, while Divergent books were told from Veronica’s point of view.
The so-far published trilogy, Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed, was sold in 125 million copies around the world. Fifty Shades of Grey was number 1 for 21 weeks on USA TODAY’s Best-Selling Books List.
